'I commissioned Ellen to draw my black lab for my husband’s 30th Birthday and she did not disappoint! Ellen took so much time and care to create this picture. She captured him perfectly, taking time to notice his fur line, his bump in his nose and his excited eyes. She communicated we me throughout the process and the result was amazing. I couldn’t recommend her enough!'
'Ellen drew Nellie, our Chocolate Labrador just before the lockdown. She captured her beautifully especially her eyes. Ellen’s ability to create an image through her skilled use of graphite is a joy to behold. We feel privileged to own this drawing as it captures a special moment in Nellie’s life, something a mere photograph could never achieve.'
'Thanks to Ellen for the stunning portrait of Aphra - Georgie rang me crying with joy when she unwrapped it! The level of detail in it is just incredible, and you've perfectly captured her cheeky spirit too! It is better than I could have hoped for. Thank you so much!'
'I asked Ellen to draw our beloved Kato as a present for my mum's birthday and we couldn't be happier with him. I can't explain it, but Ellen's drawing, the texture of her pencil and the way she has managed to capture his face, feels so much more like Kato than a photograph. Thank you so much Ellen, I never imagined that we could have our gorgeous furry boy back in our lives in such a beautiful way.'
'After seeing Ellen's incredible pet portraits online I knew I had to get one for my uncle last Christmas who's beloved dog Hari had sadly passed away on a couple months earlier. Ellen was a dream to work with and was so passionate about capturing Hari's personality in the drawing. My uncle cried when he opened the gift, he was so moved and thankful. Hari has pride of place on his bedside table.'
‘The portrait of Maddie catches her essence beautifully. The bright eyes, the enquiring tilt of her head, and the paws braced for the off. This is Maddie – a combination of sweetness and total pottiness.’
‘Ellen has captured the characters of my two dogs beautifully in the pair of portraits I commissioned as a present for my husband. The ordering process was easy too, with photos of the dogs and a preview of the finished pieces simply emailed across. I would highly recommend a pet portrait by Ellen.’
Hello, I’m Ellen, a freelance illustrator and crafts-person based in south-east England. I specialise in commissions of pet portraits and limited edition wildlife prints.
As an animal lover, I know just how much our pets mean to us and how they become such an important part of our families. That's why I began specialising in pet portraits for pet parents. I pride myself on capturing the individual life and personality of every furry friend.
Whether as a truly thoughtful gift or as a lasting memorial to a beloved pet, a commissioned portrait is a treasure that will last forever.
